Homestead

Acrylic on canvas, 40" × 60"

Solitude exists in spite of the expanse not because of it, where small details gradually reveal themselves over time. The desire for warmth no matter how faint becomes a quest, as light appears so does ambiguity, a presence only partially revealed. Harmony resonates between openness and concealment. Balancing belonging and solitude with an unresolving narrative.

Original acrylic painting by Seattle Pacific Northwest artist Matthew Holloway.
